Kim Brelly, best known for her roles in “The Office” and “The Mindy Project,” has landed a new role in “Super Bowl 50.”
The ad starring Brell as a woman with a secret identity, “The Secret Life of the Unlucky Lady,” debuted on Sunday at halftime.
The ad is Brell’s second television role since coming out as a transgender woman in January 2016.
Brell stars as the woman on the show, and is now playing a transgender person in “A Beautiful Mind.”
She has since been on a TV show with her boyfriend, John Ridley, called “Touched by a Stranger.”
The new ad, which is titled “Tangled,” is the latest in a line of new transgender-themed ads that have been popping up on television and online.
Earlier this year, the actress was in the middle of filming a new movie about her experiences as a trans woman in Los Angeles.
In a tweet on Monday, she shared more details on the new spot, which she said is called “The Secrets of the Lonely Lady.”
The spot is set in a fictional universe called “Little Girl’s World” and tells the story of an “unlucky lady” who has the secret identity of “The Lonely Lady,” and is a “secret woman.”
The Lady is not her real name.
She is “a woman who hides her true identity and is an orphan living in the city of Los Angeles, where her life is full of danger and uncertainty.”
She is also a “woman who has never felt comfortable or wanted to belong.”
The actress tweeted, “This is what life is like for a trans person living in L.A. The Lonely Lady has no friends, she has never had a boyfriend, and she is scared to live her life alone.
It’s about time we all saw her story.”
The movie, which will star “The Big Bang Theory” star Matt LeBlanc, will be released by Lionsgate in 2019.
“The Lady” will have “more than a million views on YouTube,” Brell tweeted.
“Thank you for all the love, support and laughs.”
Brell also shared a link to an Instagram photo of herself and her boyfriend standing in front of a giant banner featuring the slogan, “Laugh, Laughter, Laugh.”
“The secret lives of many of us are in our hearts and we all want to see a new Super Bowl featuring a new transgender icon and I’m so excited about this new film,” she said.
“I’m happy to be working with John Ridley and John and I’ll be so proud to share this with everyone.
This is the best way to do it.”
The first of three transgender-centric commercials was launched in April 2018 with a similar storyline.
