The Post reported this week that one of the country’s largest furniture retailers, Best Buy, is opening an exclusive warehouse space in New York City that it describes as “the world’s largest, most modern, and largest of its kind.”
The space is being dubbed the “Best Buy Center of the Future.”
It’s located in the basement of the mall’s Sears Tower, the iconic retailer’s flagship building.
The center is expected to open in late 2018.
According to the company’s website, the warehouse space will feature “all of the most iconic and most iconic pieces in our portfolio, including our signature selection of custom and retro furniture and apparel, as well as the latest and greatest consumer technology.”
The warehouse, which has been in the works for more than a decade, is expected with a total floor area of 4,000 square feet, and is expected for a 2017 opening.
The new space is expected not only to boost the retailer’s sales in the area but to help it attract and retain more employees, Best Buys CEO Brian Cornell told the Wall Street Journal.
Best Buy’s move comes as other retailers, such as Lowe’s and Home Depot, have announced similar space plans.
However, the retailer said it would not be able to move the warehouse, even if it could afford it, because of the cost of moving the warehouse.
“We believe that this warehouse will provide the largest, largest, and most efficient warehouse space available to us in the world today,” Cornell said in a statement.
“It will also be a catalyst for new business development in the Greater New York area.”
According to Cornell, Best Shop’s warehouse is expected in New Jersey’s Jersey Shore, a state that has a high rate of home ownership and is a destination for new and older residents alike.
“In the New Jersey Shore we have a population that is not accustomed to a high-tech warehouse space,” Cornell told The Wall Street Review.
“Our warehouse space is unique and the most efficient way to accommodate this.”
While the new space will only be able accommodate 1,000 people at any given time, Cornell said that the warehouse could be able double that capacity in the future.
The store is also expected to include a large outdoor outdoor space and a “frenzied” employee-centric area, which is “going to be a big focus” for the company, Cornell told CNN.
In the meantime, Cornell has already announced plans to open a new warehouse in the New York suburb of Jersey City, New Jersey.
He has also said that he will open a large retail space in South Florida, and will open “a second store in Philadelphia” and a new location in Las Vegas.
